Ashlyn Boothby, a junior at Scotts Valley High in California, became only the second female athlete in meet history to sweep the elite sections of both the girls 1,600 and 3,200 meters at the Dublin Distance Fiesta at Gaels Stadium in Dublin, Calif. Boothby prevailed in the 1,600 in 4:49.29 and pulled away in the second half of the 3,200 to clock 10:26.12. Boothby joined Sophia Nordenholz of Albany High in 2021 as the only female athletes in meet history to secure victories in the both the 1,600 and 3,200 in the same year. Boothby is also one of five prep female athletes currently in California to have run under 2:15 in the 800, sub-5 in the 1,600 and faster than 10:40 in the 3,200, along with Branson's Adeline Johnson, Ventura's Sadie Engelhardt and Buchanan teammates Grace Hutchison and Elle Lomeli.
